Types of Votes

Voting within the DAO Ecosystem is straightforward.

Most small changes are voted for on X or Discord.

All other votes that are considered substantial are done via Homebase

Why Voting is important to the DAO?

With each choice or change, it becomes a group decision rather than a individual or team choice. The DAO requires votes in order for proposed changes/choices to go ahead.

Reasoning

Decentralized Nature

DAOs are made on the idea of Decentralization, meaning no single entity or individual has complete control over the organization. Voting allows DAO participants to participate in building the project out how the majority believe it should along with making sure that governance remains distributed.

Transparency & Accountability

The voting processes in the DAO are very transparent and recorded each step of the process. This provides the ability to be audited by all DAO participants and the general public. This creates a sense of accountability as the voting process cannot be easily manipulated. Everyone can verify that the voting process was fair and that any choice or outcome is for the general community.

Incentives

Voting and the power to vote provides an incentive to do so, as show in ‘Delegating $TED’.

Each DAO participant is able to delegate to whoever they trust with their votes or even to themselves and earn a reward for doing so.

Improvements

Voting enables the project to improve itself and make beneficial impacts that are community and core team driven. In contrast, improvements don’t need to go through a multi-layer traditional org type step to get a sign off, if anyone has an idea, the community get to decide if its needed or not.
