Delegation of $TED

You can either become a delegate or choose to delegate your voting power to a member of the community. To find out how, please see the below articles.

How to Delegate

Delegating is a choice. You can choose to either vote yourself or delegate to a trusted delegate who you either trust with your votes or you think is a good member of the community and have similar voting preferences when it comes to decision making with the DAO Proposals.

The main pointers of delegating to a Delegate is so that you don’t have to vote on every proposal if you don’t want too, or pool together with like-minded users and you will be rewarded with $TED when your $TEDv is in delegation.

To delegate, you just need to click ‘Deposit XXX,XX $TED

You will then be faced with 2 options:

You will need to select to either vote on proposals yourself, or delegate your $TED to a Delegate from the list shown.

How to become a Delegate

To become a Delegate, you would need to follow the following steps:

Step 1

• Log In/Sign up to The Tezos Domains Discourse Forum here: Discussion Forum
• Once Logged In/Signed Up, you would need to head over to the Post ‘How to Become a Delegate’
• Read the requirements/Steps on ‘How to Become a Delegate’
• Reply to the topic, filling out the form given. You can also include any additional information about yourself as you seem fit. You are also encouraged to share your vision for Tezos Domains, however this isn’t a certified requirement to become a Delegate.
• Your domain must have a reverse record set, otherwise your delegate information wont be made public.
• After posting the form, a moderator, or the SoG will check your reply for formalities.

Step 2

• Copy your reply URL on the Discussion Forum once everything has been confirmed with the SoG or Moderator.
• Link your post to your Tezos Domain user, you can do this via opening the Tezos Domains App head to your account, click your main reverse record name.
• Add a new field under ‘Additional Data’ as seen below:

• Click Governance Post URL as shown in the screenshot.
• Paste the URL you copied in Step 1 and click save.

Step 3

• You would need to now start self-delegate, delegating to yourself confirms you want to be publicly visible as a delegate in the Tezos Domains App.
• Tezos Domains Have set up a dedicated page for self-delegating here . If you followed all the steps above, you should see self-delegate. As shown below.

• After clicking the “Self-delegate” button and confirming in your wallet, you will become visible to everyone who is wanting to delegate.

Rewards from Delegating

Rewards from delegating use a certain mathematical calculation.

The calculation is as follows:

The Reward APR depends on how much we set the rewards rate in the governance pool and how much staked tokens there is, this is subject to change depending on a number of factors such as the amount of delegated votes active.

The Rewards will be viewable on the Tezos Domains App Dashboard when you log in to your wallet, you will be able to see the total amount of rewards you have gained during your delegation period.
